 Facial washes are usually gel or foam like formulas that are more abrasive and will give that deeper clean to the skin. Facial washes are better suited for oily skin. Our formula is a Facial Cleanser so it is best suited for dry, sensitive skin. And here’s why…;
Facial cleansers maintain the skin’s natural acid mantle by preventing tight dry skin, irritation, and acne. Our facial cleanser has been formulated to lift excess sebum, makeup while gently exfoliating without stripping the natural oils. Qasil is a key ingredient for gently exfoliating and maintaining the skins natural PH balance. They cleanse without stripping essential moisture, making them ideal for sensitive or compromised skin.  Qasil paired with Scottish Black Bee Honey hydrates and soothes the skin with their anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and extremely high antioxidant properties help treat acne, reduce dark spots and soothe dry sensitive skin. 
 
Additional key ingredients have been selected to ensure your skin is free from any harsh chemicals, so yes, this formula is synthetic free. Our foaming agents include durosoft which classifications include;
 
·  Safety Classification: It is classified as non-hazardous and non-toxic.
·  Skin & Eye Friendly: Dermatologically tested and considered mild, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
·  Free From: It is free from PEG (polyethylene glycol), parabens, preservatives, and GMOs.
·  Regulatory Status: COSMOS approved and compatible with natural/organic formulations.
 
We use in house hydrosols which include local wild Saponaria and heather. This process is a traditional method and distilled in copper stills so that we retain the medicinal properties in the Scottish wildflowers. This process produces high-quality hydrosols due to their exceptional thermal conductivity, natural antimicrobial properties, and ability to purify the distillate. Copper interacts with plant compounds to remove sulphur and unwanted acids, resulting in cleaner, better-smelling, and longer-lasting aromatic waters with superior purity compared to modern methods (stainless steel).
All our formulas are made with purpose. Meaning there is a story and reason/need as to why it has been made. The founder has sensitive skin and reacts to most washes. This formular has been tried and tested over a five-year period. It does not leave your skin feeling tight, rather conditioned and nourished.
 
Not only does our beeswax and honey contain heather,  we do also focus on how the plant can be used from bee to flower. Where the flowers are sourced (wild heather in the surrounding landscape), and what is the best process to secrete. Saponaria hydrosol, used in this hydrosol is a plant that grows exceptionally well in the British climate & was used as the ancient way of making a liquid wash. Soapwort is full of saponins, the stuff that makes soap, soapy. When soapwort is steeped in water it releases these saponins. Soapwort is so gentle that it is still used in museums today to wash ancient & important textiles. By using soapwort we are able to avoid a lot of highly refined chemicals that are irritating to skin & leave you feeling dry & in need of moisture after washing.
 
 
 
Hebridean Sea Kelp- keeping things Scottish
Sea Kelp is a potent Ingredient packed with vitamins and minerals, bioactive compounds like fucoidan (intense hydration, reduced inflammation) and alginates  (improving elasticity and boosts absorption). And we are not forgetting polysaccharides that boost hydration and prevent water loss- win win! Power of the bees and power and process of the wild flowers 😊
Another win is according to The British Journal of Nutrition (cambet et al), studied and concluded that sea kelp forests can absorb wave energy, reducing wave energy and height up to 70% in some areas, thus preventing coastline erosion.
Our focus is not only environmental factors but how beneficial they are. The process and how ethical the product is. Sea Kelp is a super duper ingredient and if you find the time to sit down and look at the pro’s of this then have a look at a journal  from (NIH, National Library of Medicine, Potential use of seaweed bioactive compounds in skincare- a review., et al, 2019).

DESCRIPTION
 
For the scent. Natural organic oils including frankincense and vanilla are used, so it’s fragrance free. Frankincense is a powerful oil that it’s a natural antiseptic and is renowned for reducing inflammation.
Perfect for sensitive dry skin. This facial cleanser will effectively remove everyday impurities, make up and mascara. It has a gentle lather that moisturises and soothes leaving skin feeling soft and hydrated. Formulated with qasil, black bee honey, heather hydrosol using our in-house copper stills. Not forgetting this is dermatologically tested.
 
HOW TO USE
 
Use two to three pumps depending on if you have make-up on and apply to damp skin using a circular motion. Please be gentle around the eye area. Use a muslin cloth if you have make-up on for desired outcome
